Nici's Journal 5/5/2014 age of stone So there i was using my body to hold air in the sinking airship. We where flying through a cloud of volcanic ash and forest fire smoke, out of control flowing ever further from our comrade Scraf. I used some tensile wire to stitch shut the hole in the balloon while Na'than used air magic to keep us from crashing into the forest canopy above. Ikarumi proved herself behind the wheel and we found ourselves coming out of the smoke significantly further into the wild lands than I would care to be. We dispatched Ignatious to go back for Scraf, I was busy with alchemy for several hours while we waited anchored to a tree. When Scraf and Ignatious where spotted coming back they were being followed by a bug monster called a Satyrise, which were oblivious to fire both natural and magic. After the bug monster was taken down we decided to head back out of the Wildlands. We decided our best option to find the human's lost Air Captain was to put some Stalkers on the job. It was a great opportunity to try to get the Stalkers on board with the Peace with the humans. We met their leader and after offering him a gift of my personal livestock herd for his agreement. When we got back to the ship Rex was eating Reptar and the Stalker leader walked in on it. It was problematic the whole deal was almost lost. I promised that Rex would stand before Lenorom in court for his crimes, but we all agreed to go after the lost captain first.

This is copied from Heyoka Chatzy room and precedes Nici's post:
Tensions were high on the airship Highwind after Yeran Nal, the Stalker tracker, caught Rex eating the zombified corpse of Reptar to hide his foul deed. A trial was set in Wurmcity and seemed to placate his need for reptilian justice. As we made our way closer to the Wildlands two human craft rose from the canopy. I'm only starting to learn the intricacies of human clan relations and chose to stay on deck as the rest of our great race hide below. As I readied my Command of "You only see a rock" hiding within my shell under a tarp, captain Ikarru seemed to diffuse the situation speaking in one of their many dialects. Then we heard the clanking sound. Ikarru rushed below deck telling me to take the wheel. I'll never know whether what happened next was simple mutiny or some some ploy by a greater being.
One of the retreating craft fired upon the other; smoking and spiralling into the edge of the Wildlands. An explosion rocked the Highwind as the crew looked to me for instructions. "We need to rise," I called as I swung the wheel to flank the pursuing vessel. They fell prey to one of the classic blunders; the most famous of which is 'never get involved in a land war in the Xuxu desert'. But only slightly less famous is this: never go in against a Sosho wizard when death is on the line!
I cast Control Air creating a vortex to deflect their steam launchers. The crafty humans fired and I realized I had made a rare tactical mistake. I watched in horror and then delight as the bolt left their vessel in a parabolic arch and then seemed to stop and slither like a snake. The Crocman Shaman had Animated the bolt and sent it back toward the craft. A huge fireball on their deck returned my confidence as I bellowed for Scraff and Ignatius. It would be a tricky manoeuvre, but capturing the vessel seemed more prudent. I tweaked the air shield and gave the command "Release port ballast, starboard valve full." Ignatius exploded the suicidal humans, strapped with blasting powder, in a burst of dragon fire as the harpoons they tied themselves to were deflected by my masterful spell. The hulls scraping, Scraff leap to the enemy deck with his iconic yell and ripped into the first pirate. Nici took control of the helm as Ignatius scattered the enemy with his mighty war-hammer. I refocused the turbulent air entangling the rope ladder around an unlucky attacker. As Rex shoved me out of the way to skipper the ship, I decreased the air density above the balloon to give us the needed lift to avoid collision.
Of course the victory feast occurred before we could question the captives, but a Kaga artifact stolen by the Pejulan chicken hustler points toward supernatural opposition. A suicidal human had not only taken Nici's eye, but severely damaged the steamengine. While I am a master artificer, I know little of human machines. Ignatius provided a huge fire crystal as the Myla steamsmith and Owa magician helped me bond the engine with it's magical abilities. (18 crafting roll, 17 magic check to make the ship a magical steamengine item with the rank 5 ruby. It no longer needs coal as the magic makes the engine a closed system and eliminates wasted heat)
Yeran Nal took over the helm the newly christened Sects Na'do. His keen Stalker eyes spotted the mark I had left on the forest and the tracks of the Fae Killers and a lone human leading into a narrow canyon formed from the recent lava flow. As we warned him of the tricky human and his traps I saw an arrow fly and explode. blinding me. I quickly quaffed the body elixir that the great Naga alchemist had provided when I heard Ignatius shout a warning. The cacophony of falling rocks almost drowned him out as I started tucking my limbs into my shell. "The pods have erupted huge boulders! Dodge!" The monstrous vines and huge flowers of a mystical Wildland plantimal had erupted. I scrambled, blindly, trying to climp the pillar that was close to me as a thunderous sound like great dice rolling echoed through the canyon. I felt the familiar dragon claws latch onto my shell and thought I was saved, once again, by our brave dragon as the pillar toppled. I almost lost a leg but only suffered some abrasions to my ankle as the pods thundered by.
A human scream to rival Scraff rang out. Blinded, I retreated into my shell trusting in my carapace and magical shield of Sever Spell secured upon my back to protect me. The dragon-rider human called out. "Captain Harevit, we're here to rescue you. The Wurmscoil is on a mission of peace." The Stalker described him with admiration: covered in mud to disguise his heat signature, a handmade bow. enough tactics and survival skills to survive both the Wildlands and the Fae Killers.
Captain-Commander Havritt of the Dragon Shield, last survivor of the doomed mission to shell Wurmcity, mentor to our elite crew; was wild-eyed and feral. I offered to translate the Vampire diary of Le'goy detailing the Kaga plot to shapeshift into dragon form and the blood-slave economy from early in the Age of Stone but he was distrustful of even his own underlings calling them traitors and some Pejulan racial slurs for the great Wurmscoil that I learned in Journeys End.

From the Journal of Mordeus, Playhouse Vol. 17
Those dragon wizards should have had better tactics. I offered a simple trade of the cargo for their lives. The God of Death prospered on that exchange. My party was reluctant to let me confront our target alone. We agreed that I could provide a distraction. I didn't expect all 8 of them to confront me. Well, we all made mistakes. Lord Garruk's dragon-wizard commander...his name rhymed with something...forgot the the first rule of chance: never get taunted by an overconfident mortal. After three quick rounds of melee combat, his cronies did as you'd expect dragon wizards to do. I emptied the blood-gutter in a wide arc across the 21 images. reminding the seven left, "You can leave with your lives. The Mistborn Assassin always keeps his word." Well, I dodged most of the dragon fire as I died. It was all part of the plan. All Liches know how to Cheat Death; I just choose to do it with a flourish.
As my crispy corpse fell onto their recently dispatched leader, My time with the Maza company inspired a quick loot of the hardened carapace as I waited for my mouth and fingers to regenerate. The Drakekin soul was still fresh and smelling of life. My sword, Eternal Peace, lay between our bodies oozing black smoke. I claimed a new soul as the clang of absorbed arrows and the screams of dying reptilians filled the air. My honour was intact. With the flesh of my sword-arm regenerated, I lept from the pyre fumbling my spell. The lack of a pinky finger and glob of a misformed tongue ruined my Inferno spell as I killed the next so-called-wizard moving toward Borius and Acasius. Dragon fire turned my body into a blackened skeleton. Mortals and most super-naturals forget about the bureaucracy. A soul is a soul as far as paperwork is concerned.
Nimbus enchanted blades dealt coordinated strikes overwhelming the Naga Alchemist-Wizard drivers as the invisible Maza axe-men split logs. Arrows aren't much good against the Wurmscoil natural armor, but Bobbert, the Befuddled, dodged into the path of the flames. He held the dragons as they took the ridge. The ballista fired and hit, the click-clank rhythm pulling another soul toward it's death. The archers started to believe in the flask of Hardening that Bobbert had passed around. Archers work as a team and can easily hit the eyes, ears, and maws without managing a shield. These mortal humans claimed four souls for each each that they sacrificed.
As my tendons healed, I could tell my life force was near exhausted. The void pulled at my soul. Cheating Death for a third time was not an option. Dragons, ha! Left alone on the field, I regained my vision as my left arm healed. My first knife took one in the wing-pit. The second in the neck. The look on their scaly faces as they died, I will remember for the next century or so. No, it wasn't fair at all, but they had heard of me from their master.. The Mistborn Assassin always kills his target and dies in the process. Sixteen immortal souls were sent to realm of the creators, but we held back 3 of the human mortals. A fair trade if you ask me, but you shouldn't ask me about death.

Fife, Damned by Fala
I will have forgotten why I left these words. The common tongue, so that I may defile it, will confound the reader. This is simply a diary of madness; may Fala guide your soul.
There was a Troll... A Troll, oh no! Horses to eat, and vows to keep.
Traders will plead their wares and greed. Docile slave: silent and brave.
Mortal concern makes the blood burn. A child is born to the Fae's scorn.

the party was sent to find lost property of the lord which was lost in transit. After several days of riding along in/with a cart mike's character let his mask thing do the driving during the day, Hura was to stupid to think it was a bad idea. The mask drove into a river and get the beasts of burden drowned. Hura pulled the cart until the target was found. A troll was spotted at a camp fire eating horses and feeding them to human subjects and there was a cart nearby which the party found to have property of the lord contained. Hura cut through the thick bramble to clear a path to the troll. The troll named himself and said he didn't want company before the battle. After the troll was dead all the vampires that had drank from him started gaining blood and growing trolls inside of themselves. Hura was the only one that didn't reject and kill his child who he named Blue. The party returned the slaves with their bellies full of horse meat and the lords property to the castle. Blue was taught his name and Hura's and strength of stone and made armor. Hura believes there is potential to make a troll army born of vampires.

Fife, Damned by fala “Further the Machinations”
There was a wall: Stone, strong and tall. Inundate a babe. Oh, the fae...
Revenge tasty. Prey is hasty. Remember burns. Sunlight returns.
Quarry bury. Deceive Faerie. Curious fate, curs’d we debate.
Ghebet distracts from Cataphracts. Boulder carries warning. Maybes?
Plan conceived; your blood in need. fala portends. I just pretend.
Masque has seen the day between. Work for belief without a chief.
Fratricide! Train! Hide your disdain! Army of folly wins, probably.
[This addendum is intended as anti-discord. Among the esteemed Master Scholars that Translated this before the Author, who has been Educated in the Proper understanding of Ancient Lore, I have given my Interpretation. The common tongue was used to rhyme, only and foremost, as it befit Fife. This Translation preserves the Grammatical structure of the source Document.]

Chihiro: Always seeking her ancient lost treasures, she stumbles upon a character named Unver Giza. She takes her treasure and decides to partake in a risky mission with the mysterious comrade to untold treasures.
Along the way, the pair comes across a tunnel of purple crystals. Chihiro is able to harvest two of them (as well as another mounted within a talking skull). The skull captivates Chihiro and tells her that it's name is Lauden Vixen and there is another that is able to help her in her pursuits. She hastily dumps off the two secret (but translated) scrolls she was carrying in order to take along Lauden Vixen, the talking skull.
Upon finding the aforementioned second skull, it is lifeless and it's size/shape clearly indicates that it belonged to a troll. The skull, despite the size variance, has a similar hollow recess as if a crystal can be inserted. With little desire to spend her own crystals, Chihiro successfully yanks the crystal from the Lauden Vixen and into the second. The second skull reveals his name as Zul Shadowend, who has promising attributes and is kept.
Continuing along the system of underground passages, the pair comes along a pit with several foul ghouls reaching up from the depths to claim the adventurers lives. To ensure safety along the perilous ledge, Chihiro launches a couple of inferno spells into the abyss. The plan backfires (literally) as she suddenly falls into the hellish pit during her attempt at crossing.
Once the threats were eliminated, Chihiro doubts Giza's intentions and begins to wander the tunnels. She eventually decides that there's not enough excitement and begins to persue Giza once again, who tells her that her skills are inadequate for what lies ahead.
Alone, Chihiro begins to wander towards the North and is quickly apprehended and robbed by two fellow vampyres. Exhausted of magic from the tunnels, the two easily exploit Chihiro for all of her money and a few key possessions. Luckily, due to the new death crystals she acquired in the catacombs, Chihiro was able to escape. Blinded by rage, she takes an oath of revenge with a familiar character..........

Journal 4, Restricted
(While this translation is preserved; it should be read as a first-person account. The subject recorded it himself and lived long enough to write it.)
Doguu: scholar, bound, and father. Butler died, cook is tied.
Depression, regret, Science; reset. Accept your fate or cheat or wait.
Chains are broken. Troll awoken. Quidel smashed, The Shrine trashed.
You have your soul. A threat, I know. Mortals need sleep and you will weep.
During the day, Masque will play. Simple request: Your son’s flesh.
So, let us refrain From that mundane Human revenge, Dead to avenge.
Commerce will keep the sheep asleep. Justice they say! No, there's a way:
Give you the prey during the day. Your secret kept, and tears unwept.
Reality shatter? Or, words matter. You need a drink. Here is the ink.
