AXIS CITY SETTING
Axis City is the largest city of humankind on the main continent of Heyoka. Its massive urban sprawl is populated with visitors from all over the world of Heyoka, come to trade goods or find things that cannot be found in other sections of the human lands. The city itself is run by six "Merchant Lords" who form a council that controls the districts or "spokes" of Axis.
The Axis Market
At the heart of Axis lies the Axis Market, where all six roads of Axis meet. This area is one of the busiest sections of the city and is filled with merchants selling all manner of goods, from weapons, to food, to survival supplies, to forgotten relics from bygone eras...

Debtor's District
The Debtor's District is where those who cannot pay fines accrued in the city or who have violated a contract with a powerful merchant lord, have been reduced to serfdom or slavery in order to pay off their debts. The Guard Union hall is located here and the Coliseum. When the prison pit of the Guard Union overflows, volunteers or the least likely to pay their debts, are sent to the Coliseum to fight for their freedom. Often they meet only swift death.

Arcane District
The Arcane District is the location where the Arcane University is present and where magical know-how and arcane artifacts more commonly turn up among those in the marketplace. This is a old part of the city filled with underground tunnels, ruins of the lost ages of the city, and mysteries yet to be solved.
Areas of Interest: Arcane University, Bloomwell Apothecary, Owa Clan Embassy
Mead District
The Mead District is filled with taverns, bars, and Inns. Travelers often come here to spend their coin and look for romance. The Mila clan has set up a Steam Distillery where Steam-Shine is made, a highly potent liquor which is severely intoxicating. Other independent "Steam-Shiners" are known for their homebrews along a section called Whistle-Pot Road.

Religious District
The Religious District is one of the poorest areas of the city, where those who have run out of coin due to bad trades in the market, often survive in slum-like buildings and often on the charity of those religious organizations that operate in Axis. It is a district also rampant with thieves and criminals.
Areas of Interest: Temple of Fala, Temple of Magena, Caravan Camp, Beggar's Lane
Explorer's District
The Explorer's District is an area where merchants from overseas or from distant lands stop to sell their goods and lay their head. The Explorer's district is full of specialists who can build ships, sell bulk cargo, or build custom carriages for travel. Horses and pack animals are often easily for sale here. A large population of humans from foreign clan lands, also frequent here and some are permanent residents.
Areas of Interest: Cartwright Strip, Grand Trading Hall, Ganis Stables, Travel Market Inn, Lumber Camp
Garden District
The Garden District is a beautiful addition to the city, filled with hanging gardens and small farms where most of the city's produce and food are made. Herbalists and gardeners live here, but it is also one of the most heavily guarded sectors of the city, as theft of food by the poor is a concern for the Merchants who dwell here. There are many fine restaurants and even a circus grounds for festivals.
