Hanji Tong (Mike)
We have a warship under diplomatic flag; a license to profit for Lore. The crew isn't green any longer but we are still under-crewed. A bit o' paint won't disguise Fala's Kissfrom a larger vessel; we look like pirates under a false flag. We can't man the weaponry so we sail hard into the sunrise. I'm suspicious of the 6 Owan sailor. I'm unfamiliar with Naval Mage and Ship Mage officers. I know I need a couple Kangi sailors to round out the crew.
[Player Created characters] Artemis [Jessen] is a Waken Helmsman Durango [Josh] is a Pejulan Lookout Talzar [Jordon] is a Pejulan 1st-Mate Ghalladre [Nix] is a Waken? Naval Mage (Sea-witch magical ship-mover?) Roth [James] is a Sailor failed Owa Academy Magician (1/2 share until played) Ilu, Shark-puncher [Tadd] is Sailor (Rending officer?) Maza mercenary
[NPC officers] ? Owa Gunnery Mage Kalzak Quartermaster - Kanvi; former 1st-mate survior of Big Beach Island
[NPC crew] Ire-row sailor - young ?-clan survivor of Big Beach Island. 2 Owa Catapult Archer 2 Owa Ballista Archer 1 Owa Sailor
We have rations for months and a crew ready for plunder. But, sixteen to run a warship is a skeleton-crew. Captain and first-mate get double shares (2), Officers a whole (1), and sailors 1/2: 22 shares when we return to home port. I worry about those other 6 half-shares; the unfilled positions...

Captain's Logbook
After saving Kalzak's ship-wreaked crew on our first voyage to Big Beach Island, we encountered his former captain. We only saved one cast-away who broke ranks with the madman's desperate thieves. He was addicted to the honey produced by vicious inland bees. You would need an experienced crew to recover the treasure.
The southwestern bay is shallow and should be avoided at all costs. The Hatchet-nosed beavers are edible. The armored-lizards have hide thicker than the giant dagger bee can penetrate.
X ) .. / ... / . { .....o <- trapped treasure of honey insanity ^ . / } . ( /....
_ Two days southwest of Big Beach and two days south-southeast of Owa harbor is Dog Island. Ship-sized turtle creatures inhabit the island. It should be ignored like a navigator with earth magic.
We're headed 3 weeks into the sunrise.
If Captain Tong, 1st Mate Talzar, officers, or crew are dead, ransomed, or unfit to serve; open the secret compartment under this logbook. Break the wax seal to uncover the lever. Push the lever to activate the locking mechanism. Close the drawer and open it quickly. You get Fala's Kiss.

We have completed our longest journey yet. Duug was able to sight the sunken ruins north of Big Beach Isle. More importantly, a warship was sighted flying lost-clan flags. Huge canister launchers were the main armmant. They were headed South. The sailors lead by Ulo started making air-barrels for diving. We plan to explore it on the return voyage. Sunlight Isle to the North of lost clan capital is inhabited by a Kaga shapeshifter. We are unsure which type of Kaga but observered it's skin turn to eyes and thick black blood. The sharks took the creature to the depths but we know it hasn't died. It presided over a defiled temple of the Six. We found another vault locked by a similar carved elemental crystal key. Talzar wants to destroy it but I'm worried about taking on a supernatural foe. Our Waken and Owan crew may be able to detect it's deceit. The "capital" seems more like a cult ruled by followers of Quidel but their deity is unknown to the officers and crew. They searched our ship for contraband and we were warned about speaking against their beliefs and laws. Luckily we've met a man of science named Lambros. There was another captain named Sheila; Talzar, the blood hatchet, will be answering questions.

Day 19
1st Mate Talzar, supplemental
We found an island with an old priest who claimed to be a Pahana. I traded the relic bullseye lantern for a magical key. Once we were down in the ruins of the temple, we saw the destroyed statues of the gods and blasphemous graffiti. Then come to find out that the old man was a Mimic Kaga in disguise and the key he gave me transmuted back into a rusty old piece of iron. We chased him down and tracked him yo a dead end where there were two woolbears. We figured he was one of them. Finally Dan Roth spotted the lantern and some stolen scrolls. We grabbed the items and walked away, hoping the creature would give chase. The ship spotted a figure out on the cliffs who looked like a weird creature. They fired the ballistas on the ship at it but missed. It jumped into the water. Ulo and Talzar dove into the water and chased it. They harpooned him and was pulling him in when some bone sharks showed up and started attacking everyone. The Kaga took the opportunity to shapeshift into Talzar while he was still under the water. Ulo had a moment where he didnt know who the real Talzar was, but when one Talzar started bleeding black blood, he knew. The Kaga freed himself, but not before he got harpooned again. Finally they dragged the Kaga towards the surface, but before we could get him on board, the bone sharks devoured him.

A storm prevented us from leaving immediately. We used our time on Bidiban to learn about their culture and purchase their wares. Cascan, the scholar, provided a letter to the Owa Arcane Academy about intellectual trade in magical artifacts for research purposes. He was forthcoming and gave us a new "lost" Pehanan ruin south-west of Owa Harbor. With 120 days of provisions, a sated 1st-Mate, and an empty hold; we set out. Ghallendre is a good Naval Mage despite her mutinious ambitions. We made landfall on Watachee Island in 9 days. A large war party was sighted flying Kangi flags connfirming Cascan's story of invaders from the mainland; the six clans. The officers decided to make harbor. We couldn't warn Bidiban and didn't want to risk the curiosity of a bored admiral. Fala's Kiss took damage from a bucket-head eel but our courage slaying the beast opened friendly communication with the Beastkin Fayelle. They knew of the human ruins and lead us around the active volcano. I'm not sure if bravery or greed describes our actions. We have treasure, enough to pay shares, when we sell the large elemental fire crystals recovered from the volcano. We sighted a Saurharn Leviathan on the western coast. I want to hunt it for its horn and hide and, more importantly, our reputation. The officers and our Fayelle guides were loathe to attract it's attention so we stealthily took refuge in the Pehanan ruins. I intend to map this Island and slay that beast with the sun to our backs while it naps. We found another "cursed" vault and armory. I took possession of the crystal key and am unsure whether to return it to the Owa or Pahana. Döōg wants to unlock the vault on Dog Island so I'm keeping it chained to my body for now.

Captain's Log, day 28 The scholars at the Academy of the Rising Dawn seem to be less fanatical. I traded some of my personal library to the Head-master Cascan for Pehanan tomes. I feel he wants us to explore while he stays safe in his tower like our benefactor Roldo. I'm going to grab that Owan by the throat and demand answers the next time I see him. This clan is not "lost" in any way. They happen to be at war with the Kangi and enroll Pejulan sailors in their school. We narrowly avoided the crew being arrested as I predicted. I believe we can berth again if we choose to return.

Captain's Log Day 37 If we hadn't taken everything in the Turtle Temple it would have been destroyed anyway. We found the location of Pehana that don't whorship Mordok. Several vessels have reported a "moving island." We've confirmed that the profecy of that strange brasss skeleton is true. Ixpios is headed for Bidiban. All of the nearby lost-clan ruins are infested with Kaga. The latest discovery almost sunk Fala's Kiss. They thought us tomb-robbers, fit for a watery demise. Labrose's submarine works. More importantly we understand their tactics. Before they could drill our hull, we re-captured the ship. We left the oily slick of black-blood for the southern shore of Big Beach Island. We can make Owa Harbor in 2 days, a week faster than the Titan.

Captain's Log day 49 We found a shipwrecked Maza, Pok Freeman. Roldo of the Aracane Academy recognized him as a magical scholar from Axis City. He'll be a useful crew member on our mission of exploration. I learned something new about the Black Lance Serpent: it's capable of limited flight. Ghallandre came up with a plan to sacrifice our anchor to sink it to the depths. The crew kept the rumors of a Titan to a minimum and we left Owa Harbor after two days. Ay, I'm more at home on a ship than any port. We have the rations and a full crew. Ghallandre has created a shrine to Fala on the ship and claims to be a champion. We'll need a God's luck. The prophecy has come true. Döœg tells us Ixpios has made landfall and the smoke and fires confirm it. We agreed to offer aid to to a vessel flying Owan flags on Sunlight Isle, a safe distance from Bidiban. I know this harbor and put the ship into the shallows, trapped as far as the pirates knew. We sent a minimum of officers to meet their heavily armed party on the old pier. I offered our rations and signaled our ship with a flare after we got them in the bay. Vontec set their deck on fire as we dealt with our would-be captors. If their Captain's pirate tattoo wasn't a cause for battle, no one can ask them any longer. They ignored my offers of surrender and we took no prisoners, sinking that ship in the deeper water. I only regret their loyalty toward their crew, not my orders; and any man turned to piracy.

Captain's log Day 69 After selling our haul to Roldo, we set out to the real lost-clan island. We finally killed that Kaga on Sunlight Island guarding the Swan Vault. Another mysterious magician appeared, known to Pok. Gutherie is a Champion of Magena and cleansed the defiled shrine with the power of his God. Ixpious finished it's destruction of Bidiban. Ulo gave me a clockwork astrolabe. With my compass and a Locate spell, I've determined it's following us for an unknown reason. Talzar convinced me that the we should pursue the Swan key. We headed North into uncharted waters while tacking east to make the Titan avoid the small island in it's path. We sighted Saw-horn and a Pehanan vessel but chose to continue. Aye, curiosity leads to side-quests; increasing risk and decreasing rations. A captain stays in command by treasure shares and keeping the crew alive. Pok and Guthrie swore on their magical acumen and my navigation skills got us the quartet of islands, Four Splinters. I gave the crrew shore-leave at the modern Pejulan town under an ancient Eagle statue. Rumors of a dangerous Dragon and a squid-like levitation lead me to a plan. The Shoshu of Wurmscoil wanted large prey and the sailors told of lost fishing vessels from the tentacles of a mythical Deep Sea Demon. If the vault key was there, I didn't want to fight a dragon. We purchased bait, fashioned a hook, and lit it with an orb; the perfect lure for a kraken. Aye, the crew thought we were fishing until the tentacles pierced the deck. We had lured it but Fala's Kiss is not a fishing boat. We severed the tentacles, trapping it under the ship. I loaded a stasis elixir and dove into the inky water. Ambrose, Talzar and Ulo followed as Pok cleared the the ink. I shot right into it's beaked maw, letting the alchemical potion take effect. The whole crew were heros and were treated as such dragging that monster back to harbor. Konka, the Dragon, granted us honors and declared a feast. They dug a trench, thirty feet long, to cook the beast over driftwood coals. Aye, some may try to slay a dragon, we chose diplomacy. We received the Swan key and the reputation due.

Gutherie, Personal Diary
After being marooned by the shady pejulan crew, I witnessed a naval battle off the island's coast. The victors docked at the pier and hiked up the trail to the mysterious temple. I decided to hide until I could get a better understanding of whether they were friend or foe. While I was hiding, one of the woolbears started acting up. I tried to calm him down, at which point a sneaky member of the crew and I noticed each other. I recognized Pok, my brother in arms and fellow instructor, among their crew. We parleyed and I decided to demonstrate my worth to them by assessing items that a pejulan crew member possessed. One was a cloak of flying and the other was a cursed book that Irios the bard constructed from the skin of a dryad he had slain. Upon reading it, I broke into verse, singing of his vile deeds whenever I wasn't speaking of my own volition. The apparent captain of the crew then opened a music box, which put Pok and another Maza to sleep. Odd behavior for a captain, as far as I'm concerned. What appeared to be two Wyrm's Coil took the opportunity to attack us. I tried my best to wake Pok, with no success. Fortunately, the formidable crew was able to dispatch the creature easily. They revealed the creature was a kaga and, after reading up on them, I discovered that we needed to remove the corruption of its lair in order to put an end to its harassment. Concluding that it must be using the mysterious temple as its lair, I blessed the site devoted to an unknown creation god. I felt a surge of confidence as a mysterious power blessed me in turn. I look forward to learning more about this god. Perhaps it would make a worthy addition to our current pantheon.

Captain's Log, Day 70
The Pejulan's on Konka Island, the southernmost of the chain of Four Splinters, had sighted ruins. They seemed apt to grave-rob, providing shovels and pickaxes. They led us to a weathered cliff front that had provided treasure. Aye, they knew not what to do with their riches; it seemed more of a hobby, less a goal. I was unable to map the tunnels due to the effects of a luminescent fungus which betrayed my eyes. The tunnels and ruins were twisted into glittering fragments like a Fata Morgana with colors that couldn't be real. Talzar had to take command as I was incapacitated by the sporal vapors. We recovered samples and will be using these for alchemy. I remember my crew’s faces dripping stalactites tunnels through aether and then the glyphs for a portal. Aye, the undead spectres and the rope tied to Ulo brought me back to my senses. We had activated a central glyph with 6 schools of magic, a portal to the realm of the dead or a barracks for the marines of an ancient Pehanan admiral. The details are fuzzy but I know I sent a Meteor spell bound to my bolt through it. The crew of Fala’s Kiss survive undead or living, supernatural or ambitious. Pok or Gutherie did something I couldn’t see. Regardless, those entities became dust under my boots. We recorded the long lost names of the Pehana naval command and took their relicts. Konka’s humans were happy with a trade for gold; although, they have a mortal life-span unlike their lord. Wealth is not accumulation of riches if you can’t spend it; that’s simply hoarding. A Dragon’s intentions are it’s own. Those that serve it are crew; to be replaced when needed. Konka is a friend and I respect safe-harbor. We left that island chain with reputation; a ship that could return and should be respected. We navigated West toward the pirate flotilla. A small island is on my map. If the Titan is still following us, for an unknown reason, we should pull it west of Sunlight Isle. A brief stay to explore and restock fresh water will let us head South to reorient it toward the pirates. An east-southeast heading should get us to Sunlight Isle and Bidiban.
